Rebecca Gaver

She has resided in the desert southwest for twenty-seven years, the last eleven of which have been in Kanab, Utah.  She is passionate about both the high and low desert country, and this is reflected in her works of art. VanDenBerghe is her married name, but she continues to sign her art as Gaver, since that was the name she was know by as an artist.  Her life is built around her husband Van and their animals (horses, dogs, and yes, even chickens).  They enjoy camping and traveling, and it is during these excursions that many of the drawings are created.  Being an artist is not a profession - it is a way of life.

Kurt Robinson

I enjoy touring the country by jeep, the canyons by rope, and the rivers by raft.  I love to share these adventures through photography and thanks to my friends at Grand Canyon Expeditions, I've rafted the Colorado River with special interest groups studying geology, archeology, and photography.  To see more of my explorations, please visit Kurt Robinson Photography at Flickr.  www.flickr.com

Powell Point from Henriville, UT.
Named for John Wesley Powell, this 10,000 ft abutment was used by his survey party in the late 1800s because it could be seen from as far away as the Grand Canyon. If you take the scenic Highway 12 you will go through Henriville and can see Powell Point.

Marty Feely started the storm chase tour industry with his "Whirlwind Tours", which he owned and operated from 1993-1999.  These days he photographs the landscapes of the Colorado Plateau.  No computer enhancement is used in his work.

Rebecca Gaver has been a practicing artist for over forty years.  Her pen & ink drawings, spare and expressive, have been compared to Japanese ink images.  The colored pencil drawings are delicate and subtle renderings of landscapes and plants.   Gaver has a BFA in Printmaking from the University of Florida, and taught art at the graduate level at the University of Arizona and in special interest adult classes.  She was the original founder of Juniper Fine Arts, creating the gallery and forming the Juniper Artist Association in 2003.  She ran the gallery for that first year, setting the standard for its continued existence.

I'm lucky to have been born and raised in Kanab, "Little Hollywood" the Hub of the Grand Circle.  Kanab is surrounded by some of the country's most beautiful National Parks and Monuments.  Living in this magical canyonland area has given me many amazing opportunities.

I was at Bryce National Park on an on-again off-again snowy day. Found nothing great to shoot so I headed home, but first stopped off at Ruby's Inn for some coffee. Sitting in the booth I looked out and saw Powell Point going in and out of sunshine. So I paid my bill and hurriedly drove about 15 miles east on highway 12 (towards Capital Reef NP) to Henriville to take this shot.  Ron is a retired teacher from California, now living in Kanab, Utah.
